Hello there...

My name is Deborah and I am a 35 year old mum of my 18 month old daughter. I am a full time mum by day but work a couple of evenings a week as a "Lifestyle Consultant" for Templespa which I love and I know that my little girl is tucked up in her bed with daddy watching over her.

The concept for "SURE Mums" came about when I moved to a new area and community just over 2 years ago and I didn’t know anyone or didn’t even know where to go! I was advised by my health visitor, about a year ago, about the groups available at my local Sure Start centre. I now visit them several times a week and me and my little girl have made lots of new friends, built up our confidence, attended courses, had great nights out and even been introduced to other new groups. We now feel very welcome in our community. So I now would like to give something back to others. We have new quarterly themes for our SURE Mums starting with Health and Well-being in Quarter 1 of 2009, which I am sure you will enjoy!

SURE Mums are groups with a difference and although we say mums, we do actually mean carers, child minders, dads and grandparents too. Not only will you see different activities, you can incorporate your own ideas and when free even volunteer to help us out. It's basically a group for the "mums" by the "mums". So why not give us a try and you may benefit in so many ways...you never know It may even change your life like it has mine and my little girl's too!
